Teen Girl's Depression & Anxiety Support Group (Grades 9-12)
Looking for support for your teen who is suffering from anxiety and/or depression? Ask your teen to join us as we explore coping skills, social anxiety, self-esteem, and other important issues surrounding their depression. This group will give her a foundation for a healthier lifestyle, as well as help her form bonds with other girls who are going through similar situations.
The loss of a relationship can be devastating. Research shows that our brains react to the loss of a relationship in the same way they react when we lose a limb. Our brain reacts as if a piece of us is missing. No matter how long your relationship lasted, the end of that relationship can bring depression, anxiety, and concerns for the future. This is often true even if you were the one who decided to end the relationship. Your living arrangements may not be determined yet. If you have children, custody and possession may still be undetermined. Your self-esteem may have been damaged by an unhealthy relationship. Finding your “new normal” after the loss of a relationship can be scary. The unknown can be scary in general, and when a relationship ends, there are many question marks left to be addressed.
The break-up group is for adults who have experienced the loss of a marriage or other relationship. Gaining support from others who understand what you’re going through can be uplifting, and help put your situation in perspective. All too often, we feel like we are the only person we know that is experiencing this pain. But the truth is that you are not alone. So there’s no reason to go through this process alone. Your divorce or separation doesn’t have to define you, or hold you back. If you feel like it’s time to get back on track and process this change in your life, give us a call.
This group meets once a month and is open to individuals over the age of 18. LGBT group members are welcome. This is a friendly environment for all.
