Infertility Counseling and Evaluations

Infertility Counseling

Infertility is very stressful, especially for women. One of the most heartbreaking things in life is the struggle to have a child. Infertility is an all-consuming, exhausting, daily battle. You don’t have to go through it alone. We can help you through your journey whether you are pursuing Assisted Reproductive Procedures such as IUI, IVF, egg donation and gestational surrogacy or you’ve chosen adoption as your option.

Lowering your stress levels is an important part of infertility counseling. Studies have shown that stress actually affects ovulation. We will work together to control the stress and anxiety that typically accompany the infertility battle.

The level of pain women feel when they cannot conceive is comparable to losing a loved one or receiving a diagnosis of a terminal illness. This emotional roller coaster of infertility can lead to anxiety and depression.

Much of our personal identity is wrapped up in our ability to produce children. Don’t do this alone. Call for an infertility counseling appointment.

Infertility counseling may include:

  • Advocating for effective, therapeutic care in a medical setting
  • Coping with anxiety, stress, and depression
  • Managing treatments and life simultaneously
  • Exploring fertility options (including using donor sperm, donor eggs, donor embryos, and/or working with gestational carriers/surrogates)
  • Making well-informed treatment decisions
  • Enhancing couples’ communication

Couples should attend counseling, even if only one is undergoing the infertility procedures. Since many men feel uncomfortable sharing their feelings, they should be encouraged to attend. Meeting with an infertility therapist will allow them to talk about their fears and insecurities about the treatment process, and can help them communicate with their partner through an open channel.

Infertility Psychological Evaluations:

If you are undergoing a fertility procedure, you may be required to have a psychological evaluation before your doctor will proceed.  The costs are as follows:

Recipient/Patient evaluation – $175

Donor/Carrier evaluation (basic) – $175

Donor/Carrier evaluation (with psychological assessment) – $350

All services include a report that will be sent to your physician.

Fees are subject to change.
